Обряд экзорцизма. Один из любимых мифов современного кинематографа. Однако много ли общего этот обряд имеет с реальной, вполне рутинной для Католической церкви церемонией изгнания дьявола? Немало современных священнослужителей считают экзорцизм мрачным пережитком Средневековья, когда за одержимость принимали вполне обычные эпилептические припадки, истерию или нервные срывы. Но… что же Католическая церковь понимает под экзорцизмом в наши дни? Летом 2005 года молодой американский священник записался в Ватиканский университет на курс экзорцизма, после чего в ходе практики принял участие более чем в 80 реальных обрядах. Увиденное навеки изменило его взгляд на проблему одержимости. Так что же довелось ему пережить?..
